St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School is a Catholic co-educational school for students from Prep to Year Six. It was established in 1935 by the Sisters of Mercy and is part of the Rockhampton Diocese of Catholic Education.

Our Motto – In Christ We Grow – reflects the central theme of Catholic education. Our aim is to nurture students in a caring environment, encouraging them to strive for their personal best and teaching them values and skills to become life-long learners.

Please browse through our web site to experience the unique nature of our school and the multitude of opportunities that are available to our students.

We are holding our annual Art competition again beginning Monday 13 August and ending on Friday 7 September.

There will be three awards presented in the competition:

The Judge's Choice

The entry may be part of artwork that has been completed in class time or it may be an individual's piece completed at home. Importantly, the work must belong entirely to the student.

  • Must be able to be framed or hung
  • Only 1 entry per person - No entry fee
  • Entry forms must be signed by the student and his/her parent (or teacher if the work has been done in class)
  • No signature on the front of the artwork until after judging

Announcement of winners for the Judge's, Principal's and People's Choice award will be made on Monday 17 September. All entries will be displayed at the school from Monday 10 September until Friday 14 September.

CHILD PROTECTION

Protecting Children is Everybody’s Business - Play Your Part”

At St Francis Xavier, keeping children safe is a priority. We educate the students on matters of cyber-safety, who to go to if your personal safety is threatened and through the support of our brilliant adopt-a-cop, Sgt Helen. There are posters in learning areas identifying the Student Protection Officers. I also speak with the students at the beginning of the year about personal safety when it comes to physical, emotional, sexual or cyber abuse.

Below are links to a number of resources for your perusal on child protection. These documents are also in the school office. I would urge parents to take time to discuss this issue with the children.
